Will the New God of War Game Explore Egyptian Mythology?

There have been exciting rumors that the next God of War game from Sony’s popular series may be based on Egyptian mythology. Kratos may face off against the Egyptian gods in this new adventure.

A compelling leak about the next God of War game has surfaced. According to Insider Gaming, Sony might be working on a new God of War game based on Egyptian mythology. This rumor is strengthened by reports that Sony is looking for a Middle Eastern audience for a new AAA title. After exploring Greek and Norse mythologies in previous installments, the series might now step into the mystical world of ancient Egypt. However, these claims have yet to be officially confirmed.

Egyptian Mythology Is Not a New Idea for God of War

The theme of Egyptian mythology isn’t a completely new concept for the God of War series. It’s known that Sony Santa Monica considered incorporating Egyptian mythology into the 2018 God of War reboot but ultimately focused on Norse mythology. Cory Barlog, the series’ creative director, mentioned that they had envisioned a scene where Kratos walks through a desert to reach an ancient Egyptian city, but the idea was eventually abandoned.

The New God of War Game Could Feature Egyptian Gods

Egyptian mythology, with powerful gods like Ra, Anubis, Osiris, and Set, along with its magical atmosphere, could provide a fitting backdrop for God of War’s epic storytelling style. If these leaks are accurate, players could experience a new narrative where Kratos and Atreus—or perhaps another character—face off against the Egyptian gods.

The information about Sony seeking players for this new game suggests that the project may be in its development stages. However, there has been no official announcement regarding the release date or further details. Nevertheless, the prospect of God of War exploring Egyptian mythology has sparked great excitement among fans.

Each new God of War installment is known for its deep storytelling and impressive gameplay. If Kratos truly steps into the mysterious world of Egypt, it could offer an unforgettable experience for both mythology enthusiasts and gamers alike. Sony’s official announcement is highly anticipated.
